With one round to go, it's now the business end of the billiards season.
Six other teams are still in-line to lock in the other three out of the four top spots on the ladder.
Castlemaine and Eaglehawk are in contention, however, with four premiership points still up for grabs anything can happen.
There is only one point between the two VRI teams which will most likely see them vie for the final position.
As the season has approached finals, the quality of competition has continued to rise.
One the back of his recent 28th Bendigo single's billiards championship, VRI's John Schenck scored three recent 100s, the highest of the season at 156.
Castlemaine's Graeme Wright posted an 80, while Golden Square's Ryan Bowland locked in a 95 last round.
Sandhurst's Glen Purdy and Eaglehawk's Tyson How also scored half centuries.
Meanwhile, in the B-grade competition VRI will host Castlemaine on Tuesday with the winner going through to the grand final.
In the elimination final it will be a Golden Square show-down, with the winner going through to next week's preliminary final.
