Golden Square's bid to return to the BFL top three has been strengthened by the signing of former Carlton player Jaryd Cachia.

Rookie listed by Carlton in 2010 and again in 2012, Cachia played 14 senior games for the Blues in 2013 and won the best first year player award.
Cachia also had stints in the VFL and SANFL and most recently played with Essendon District Football League runner-up Aberfeldie.
The 28-year-old headlines four quality recruits for the Bulldogs, with two Goulburn Valley Football League premiership players and the Loddon Valley Football Netball League's premier midfielder also joining the Bulldogs.
"Jaryd is a bull and an A-grade recruit,'' Golden Square recruit Bernie Haberman said.
"He played some footy up in the Northern Territory with (Golden Square captain) Jack (Geary) and we were keen to get him last year.
"We spoke to him again at the end of the season and he's keen to come up here and play."
Shepparton Bears premiership players Joel Brett and Liam Duguid have also joined the Bulldogs.
Brett is a proven goalkicker, while Duguid adds some speed and ball carrying ability to Square's mix.
"Joel and Liam trained with Kangaroo Flat the last couple of years while playing in the GVFL,'' Haberman said.
"We started talking to them midway through this year and they agreed to play with us about a month ago.
"They'll add to our group really well and will be in our top 10 players.
"Joel is a mid-sized forward who kicked 40-odd goals last year and 40-odd goals the year before in a premiership year.
"Liam is a bit like Liam Barrett in that he can play in multiple areas of the ground.
"Liam is explosive and a power athlete. In our first session on Sunday he won our 20m sprint clearly and he had the best vertical leap.
"He'll play off half-back or through the midfield."
Mitiamo premiership player and reigning LVFNL Harding Medal winner Terry Reeves has decided to test himself at a higher level and will play with Golden Square in the BFNL.
"We spoke with Terry last year because he's friends with Clayton Anderson, but it didn't work out,'' Haberman said.
"With all the dealings we had with Cachia and the Shepparton boys we hadn't spoken to Terry this year, but when I did ring him straight away he said "yeah, I'm coming".
"He just wants to have a go. He's a ball winner and a hard player and it's a gutsy decision for him to put himself out there and challenge himself.
"It would have been easy for him to stay out in the Loddon Valley. I'm excited for him."
Reeves also earned the medal for best on ground in Mitiamo's grand final win over Pyramid Hill.
Alex Marklew, Travis Baird, Brayden Dorrington, Mitch Treacy and Jordan Rosengren are confirmed departures from the Bulldogs' squad which finished fourth in 2019.
"There's a chance we could get a couple more players as well which would potentially give us six players in and maybe five or six out,'' Haberman said.
"We're pretty happy with where we sit at the moment."
