CFA open days allow people to meet and chat to local firefighters and CFA members, inspect the station and fire trucks and ask questions about volunteering.
Fire ready meetings are open to everyone, and with every season different, the CFA urges people to attend one meeting every year before summer.
The most essential decisions you and your family need to make, how to stay informed should a fire start and tips to help you start or review your fire plan are part of these one hour sessions.
The next CFA open day's are Saturday, November 23 at the Eaglehawk Fire Station from 10:30am and Sunday, November 24 at the Maiden Gully Fire Station from 10am.
Fire ready meetings will take place at Metcalfe Reserve tomorrow at 11am, with more to follow in December.
The CFA website, VicEmergency app and the Vic Emergency hotline, 1800 226 226 offer advice on how to stay updated on fire risk.
