The tram was installed at Charring Cross in March to tie in with the Bendigo Art Gallery's Tudors to Windsors exhibition.
"So many people have been taking photos of the tram, so it's been a high profile location for us," Bendigo Heritage Attractions chief executive Peter Abbott said.
"In terms of social media and building up our brand, it's been a great success for Bendigo Tramways."

The tram will reside at the Central Deborah Gold Mine over the summer months as additional seating for the site's cafe.
But Mr Abbott said it won't be there for long as Bendigo Heritage Attractions looked for the tram's new owner.
"We've got a couple of buyers that we're working with at the moment so we've been quite selective with who we sell it to," he said.
"We prefer to sell the tram to a high profile location and we're taking our time to make sure it's done properly. Hopefully in the new year we'll be able to announce who is buying it and where it will be going."
Mr Abbott said while he hoped the tram remained in Bendigo, there was no guarantee the buyer would be local.
The money made from the sell would go towards maintaining the current tram fleet, Mr Abbott said.
"The tram is essentially surplus to our needs and the money we will get from selling this tram could go towards restoring our operating trams," he said.
