A number of burns have been planned near Castlemaine in the next two days.
Forest Fire Management Victoria and the Country Fire Authority will conduct two burns on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Walmer State Forest.
The first will be about three kilometres north-west of Castlemaine.
The other burn will be at Castlemaine-Barkers Creek, about four kilometres north of Castlemaine.
The burns should be completed sometime between 10am on Tuesday and 8pm on Friday.
Smoke could be visible from Castlemaine, Muckleford, and Barkers Creek until Friday.
The CFA is warning there could be low visibility on the roads due to smoke.
Access to walking tracks, car parks, camping grounds and picnic sites near the burn areas could also be restricted.
