The Bendigo South East College band will be court-side at home games, adding to the stadium's ambience with live performances.

"Sport and music is something I've been looking at for a long time," BSE head of arts Stephen Briggs said.

"When you look at American football and basketball, live bands play a big part.

"When this opportunity came long to arrange some music for a game it was a big test, but it worked really well and the band loved the opportunity to play at the stadium."

The band play a hand-picked repertoire of music during each game.

Conductor Warwick Cohen said it was essential to select music people recognised.

"We use the repertoire based on music from all of our bands and we pick the best that we think people will know," he said.

Band member Josh Condon said it was 'brilliant' to be involved with sports.

"It's awesome to know we're part of the game and we bring great energy," he said.

Briggs said a goal for the partnership was to invite bands associated with visiting teams to also play during games.

"It would be great to engage bands from other schools to work together at the games," he said.
