East overcame Castlemaine by just four shots thanks to Helen Clough's 32-13 win over Pat O'Shea.
In another thrilling finish, Kangaroo Flat held off Golden Square by just five shots.
In the other two matches, Bendigo and Eaglehawk scored comfortable wins over Inglewood and Woodbury respectively.
Bendigo East heads the ladder from Golden Square, Kangaroo Flat and Bendigo. Eaglehawk, Inglewood, Castlemaine and Woodbury are outside the top four.
