After the success of Belvoir Park's 2018 Christmas Bonanza, the club plans to make it even bigger and better this year.
Last year there were 188 entries in total and there are early indications that there will be in excess of 200 players for 2019.
"The word got out on how successful the Christmas Bonanza was last year," club spokesman Alan Besley said.
"We already have 70 entries down and golfers are ringing up and inquiring about how they can get involved.
"The course has received welcome rains over the weekend and this week will undergo coring of all of the greens to ensure the layout will be in superb condition for the clubs biggest event on the golfing calendar."
Among the entrants so far is one of the region's prominent senior golfers, Chris Tatt from Buninyong and current Victorian Sandgreens champion Ben Tatt from Belvoir Park.
Tour professional Kris Mueck will also return for his second Christmas Bonanza.
"By getting some of the big names of golf from around the region, it creates an awareness that this is one of the best tournaments in central Victoria," Besley said.
The tournament is played in a 4BBB stableford format and is the major annual fundraiser for the club.
"Majority of the tournament's workers are volunteers who do all sorts of things such as prepare the course, source sponsorship and all of the administration in the lead-up," Besley said.
"Our goal is to raise money so we can purchase more green-keeping equipment so that we can keep the course in top condition."
The Christmas Bonanza will be played on Saturday December 21.
