WATER has been restored to households around Mundy Street and McIvor Road in Bendigo after a water main burst on Tuesday morning.
A Coliban Water spokesperson said water was restored to properties about 2.30pm.
It took another hour to build up the water pressure in the system, the spokesperson said.
Update, 10.30am:
ABOUT 200 households around Mundy Street and McIvor Road will be without water or experiencing low pressure after a water main burst on Tuesday morning.
Crews were onsite to isolate and repair the main at about 7.30am.
Coliban Water estimates the main will be repaired by about 1.30pm.
The outage has affected Goodstart Early Learning Centre Bendigo, which has been forced to close for the morning.
Coliban Water said about 200 customers would be affected. The organisation is still trying to establish the cause of the burst main.
Earlier:
ABOUT 100 Bendigo children are without childcare this morning after a water outage near the city centre on Tuesday morning.
Goodstart Early Learning Bendigo texted parents about 7am to inform them the centre would be closed until water was restored.
Centre director Jo Russell said she discovered water was out when she arrived in the morning.
Ms Russell said she rang Coliban Water, who told her there was a leak on Mundy Street.
She said the centre would open as soon as water service was restored.
Parents will be sent another text as soon as the centre can open again.
Ms Russell said the centre would normally have about 100 children on a Tuesday morning.
It's not yet clear what area the water outage covers.
Coliban Water has been approached for comment.
More to come.
