Macey Eaton and Martin Steen attended the recent Victorian National Performance Program in Geelong.
The program gives elite players an opportunity to undertake scholarships that will further develop skills.
All of the players are selected from both Victoria Country and Victoria Metropolitan under-16/18 teams.
The players were selected based on performances at recent Australian Junior Championships or have been scouted by high performance coaches as having potential to represent Australia in the future.
The athletes covered key skills that were relevant both on and off the court.
There was an emphasis on mental health and wellness, strength and conditioning, college pathways in addition to a focus on Basketball Victoria's Own Ur Goal monitoring system.
The on-court activities included physical testing as well as sessions for skill development and decision making.
Parents of the the athletes also attended workshops on similar topics.
BV high performance head coach for metropolitan men Ash Arnott said the program exposed the players to elite behaviours and skills sets that were required at the next level of competition.
"We've seen some amazing achievements from Victorian players in recent years at national championships as well as already representing Australia and we're keen to continue that success with the next generation of Victorian stars," Arnott said.
"The Victorian National Performance Program (VNPP) is an elite opportunity that will enhance the players' skills and take them to new heights as players and most importantly, as people in general."
BV female high performance coach Jenni Screen and Zoe Carr believed the program encompassed a holistic approach to each individual's development as basketball players.
"We want to ensure players coming through the VNPP graduate from the program as not only elite individuals on the court but even better and well - equipped people off the court," the pair said.
