The positive energy among the team Bendigo Theatre Company's Wicked is clear from the outset.
Impeccably designed sets and costumes combined with hours of painstaking make-up and technical wizardry make this one of the strongest shows BTC has produced.
It is wonderfully cast from the leads right down to the smallest role as Melissa Harrington (Elphaba) and Annabelle Heslop (Glinda) create a strong chemistry supported by the other leads particularly Kody Austin as Fiyero and Claire Sexton as Madame Morrible.
The entrancing story of what happened to result in the plot of the film The Wizard of Oz has some sinister overtones and themes but remains light-hearted and fun throughout.
