In total 32 players have qualified for the singles tournament, all vying for valuable ITF tour points to climb the rankings to secure a spot in the 2020 Australian Open.
In one of the matches of the day, the tournament's top seed and reigning champion Priscilla Hon will take on fellow Australian Abbie Myers during the afternoon session.
A strong contingent of Japanese players and other international competitors will take to the court against some of the Australians.
The tournament's 2014 champion Eri Hozumi will take on Victorian rising star Destanee Aiava in the late morning session.
There will also be doubles action throughout the day, with Hozumi and American partner Asia Muhammad taking on Australians Alison Bai and Gabriella Da Silva Fick.
