SEDGWICK'S Jordan Ilsley claimed the Emu Valley Cricket Association's best match figures of the past 13 seasons after finishing with 12 wickets in the Rams' outright win over Axe Creek on Saturday.
Ilsley followed up his first innings seven-for with another five wickets in the second as the reigning premiers again dismissed the Cowboys cheaply at Club Court.
The Rams immediately declared at 7-277 in reply to the Cowboys' first innings 41, in which Ilsley took 7-7.
Ilsley then bagged 5-23 off 11 overs as the Cowboys were knocked over for 76 in their second dig.
Having again ripped through the Cowboys, Ilsley snared a match-haul of 12-30 off 18.4 overs, taking the mantle from California Gully's Shaun O'Shea's 12-56 as the EVCA's best match figures since the Addy started keeping records in 2006-07.
Ilsley's 12 wickets for the match featured six bowled, four lbw for 10 unassisted and two caught.
As well as making 36 with the bat and taking a catch, Ilsley earned 286 Addy MVP points for his stunning round two performance.
Connor Bulger scored half of Axe Creek's second innings score with a knock of 38 off 40 balls.
Across its forgettable two innings Axe Creek lost 20 wickets for 117 runs in just over 51 overs.
The Cowboys - who have returned to division one for the first time since 2015-16 - had just three double figure scores for the match.
* Emu Creek produced a strong batting performance, yet West Bendigo's 6-365 proved beyond its reach at JG Edwards Oval.
Led by a century to opener Luke Bennett, the Emus answered with 295.
All-rounder Bennett cracked 101 and was part of a 136-run stand for the second wicket with skipper Todd Brown (72).
The Emus also got 47 from recruit Brent Downie in the middle-order, with he and Flynn Hartigan (27) adding 65 for the ninth wicket.
Shannon Murphy picked up 4-44 for the Redbacks in what was their first victory over Emu Creek since the 2012-13 season.
* A century from new captain Marcus McKern wasn't enough to get California Gully over the line against Spring Gully.
The Cobras were all out for 225 chasing Spring Gully's 308.
Opening the batting, McKern cracked 14 boundaries in his knock of 105.
There were plenty of starts for the Cobras - seven players got to double figures - but McKern was the only player to go on and capitalise.
McKern was the fifth wicket to fall with the score on 168 when he was one of the four scalps of Spring Gully's James Fox (4-52).
* Mandurang had to settle for first innings points against Marong at home.
Resuming at 1-116 in reply to Marong's 86, the Rangas added a further 81 runs before declaring at 6-197, with opener Linton Colclough (73) top scoring.
Jayden Laubsch finished with 4-47 for the Panthers, who were 2-52 off 30 overs in their second innings when stumps were pulled.
* Maiden Gully comfortably defended its score of 9-262 against United.
The Tigers fell well short of their target when bowled out for 160 after being in early strife at 5-39.
Brett Haw (3-38) and Rob Brown (3-28) snared three wickets apiece for the Lions, while Mac Whittle was the best with the bat for the Tigers, making 44.
