Steel sculptor and event organiser Andre Sardone said the trail was born out of a desire to bring the talents of local artists together for a weekend.
"As artists we often have to create our own opportunities, and we have so many great artists here in Bendigo," Mr Sardone said.
"We went with 'artisans' in the title, as not all of us are artists in the traditional sense, yet we all have valuable knowledge and skills in the areas we are passionate about.
"We were pleased to have had such a successful event last year and we decided it could be bigger and better, so invited more local artisans."
The trail has six permanent locations, which will have at least one, and as many as four, additional locals exhibiting at each site.
"There will be a diverse array of talent on show; we have a ceramicist, jeweller, an antique clock repairer, a knife maker, sculptors and a number of visual artists including a display and demonstration by the Bendigo Botanical Illustrators."
The trail is a free event, excluding Marilyn's flowers, which is $5 for adults and includes a tour of the open garden.
The event runs from 10am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday, October 19 and 20.
