UNIVERSITY'S Craig Green and Brian Watson were victorious in the 5000m and 3000m races respectively in the latest round of the Parker Electrical-backed Tuesday Night Series.
Green and Watson reigned supreme against fields of 22 and 18 at the Latrobe University Bendigo athletics complex in Retreat Road, Flora Hill.
It was a University quinella in the 5000m as Green took honours in 18 minutes 22.53 seconds ahead of clubmate Andrew Creer, 18:27.23.
Victorious in the previous Tuesday's round, 16-year-old Taine Lang from Bendigo Harriers put in another great run to be third in 18:43.82 as Eaglehawk's Trevor Kelly was next in 19:14.
Fastest female was Bendigo Harriers' veteran Anne Buckley in 22:13.14 to be eighth overall.
Ages of athletes in the 5000m ranged from 21, 25, 28 and 32, to many in their 40s and 50s.
In the 3000m event, Brian Watson was first to finish in 10:30.03 as Glenhuntly's Tarli Bird, 10:46.11, was runner-up.
Next best were Bendigo Harriers' Mychael Baker, 10:50, and University's Stephen Van Rees, 11:03.57.
Adam Parker from South Bendigo Athletics Club ran a time of 12:31.64 to be fifth overall.
Distance for next Tuesday's race is 3000m from 7pm at LUBAC.
