The team travelled to Melbourne to play in the School Sport Victoria State Championships earlier in the week.
The first game was played against Frankston College where the team lost the toss and batted first.
The opening partnership of Cailin Green and Abby Powell ended sooner than expected, which sent Bridie Semmens and Holly Ryan in to bat together.
The pair put on a partnership of 118 runs collectively, with Semmens ending up on 61 and Ryan on 31. The final score for CMC's batting innings was five for 175.
It was then CMC's turn to bowl. In a great display by all the team managed to bowl Frankston out for 33 runs.
Powell ended up with two wickets and a run out, Semmens with three wickets, Green two wickets, Chelsea Furlong one and Abbey Clohesy pitched in with an impressive catch.
The win secured the team's spot in the final against Koonung.
CMC lost the toss again and bowled first.
Koonung's opening partnership was strong and sent the ball to the boundary many times. Powell and Semmens were the team's top bowlers with two wickets each.
Chasing 189 was tough but there was a great deal of determination from the group.
Powell and Green opened the batting once again and, as in the first game, things were not looking good as the team lost a few quick wickets.
Mackenzie Nally came in to steady the ship, making a handy 53 not out. Unfortunately, they were not unable to get over the line, falling short in the run chase with a total of 98.
"Despite the result, we still finished as the School Sport Victoria State Runners Up - a pretty good achievement," Semmens said.
"Well done girls, we will get them next year."
Green praised the level of support the team received.
"Thanks to Jack Keating and Matthew Wilkinson who travelled with us and did the scoring and the umpiring," Green said.
"Also, a big thanks to Miss Henriksen for being a super and supportive coach."
