This year's event marks the 90th anniversary of the oldest current hill climb in Australia and possibly the second oldest in the world.
For the past eight years the hill climb has been hosted by the Bendigo Car Club.
"It's a very popular event among all of the vintage racers with competitors coming from across south east Australia," BCC president Craig Button said.
"There will be drivers aged from as young as 16 all the way to people in their 80s."
The hill climb is contested by cars and motorcycles in a time trial race format over the set distance of 1.6km.
"Competitors are timed from when they leave the start line at the bottom of the hill until the finish up at the top," Button said.
"In total they have three or four runs of the course and the best time of the day counts to their overall score."
The current record holder is Liam Sales who set a time of 42.2 in a Valiant Charger.
The course was once used for the Australian Hill Climb Championships.
However, an unfortunate tragedy where a driver lost their life in the mid 1980s saw the track reverted back to a restricted course for historic vehicles only.
The current forecast is around 15 degrees with mainly fine conditions on both Saturday and Sunday.
With the conditions similar on both days the drivers won't have any major changes to weather conditions between practice and race day.
Spectator entry at the foot of Mount Tarrengower, near Maldon, will cost $15 for adults and $5 for children. Practice runs take place on Saturday and timed runs on Sunday.
