Jannaya Webb has been announced as the Maiden Gully YCW 17-and-under netball coach.
Webb has extensive experience both on and off the court as a player and coach.
"I've been involved with netball since I started playing back in 1998 and over the years I've taken on multiple roles from junior through to A-grade," Webb said.
A highlight of Webb's is being a triple A-grade coach at Sandhurst.
However, Webb has extensive involvement with other clubs such as Newbridge and has had coaching roles with the north central zone academy.
But what has kept Webb involved with the sport for multiple decades is quite simple.
It's not the accolades and the wins.
"It's all of the great friendships that I've formed along the way," Webb said.
"To be a part of a club is such a pivotal aspect to keep you involved with the local community."
This belief is something that Webb instills within her key coaching messages.
"It's about teaching the kids to be a part of a team, it's not an individual sport," Webb said,
"It's never about the individual accolades, it's about working with others which is really important in this day and age.
"I believe it's so important to teach kids this, it's not about who is best on court, it's about helping around the club and learning that everyone has their duty.
"If you can be actively involved with a club and a sport, it will keep you on the right track."
The 17-and-under Eagles defeated Calivil United in the 2019 netball grand final.
The Eagles got the job done over the Demons in a nail-biting one goal victory.
Webb is one of recent junior coaching announcements at MGYCW.
Last week Ben Dyett was named as head coach of the Eagles' under-18 football team.
