A WOMAN is being airlifted to Melbourne in a serious but stable condition after a crash at Axe Creek on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency services freed the woman from her car after it hit a tree on Axe Creek Road about 2.20pm.
The woman has leg injuries.

A WOMAN has been extracted from her car after a crash at Axe Creek on Sunday afternoon.
Paramedics are assessing the woman.
An air ambulance has landed on scene.

EMERGENCY services are working to free a woman trapped in her car after a crash at Axe Creek.
Paramedics were called the crash in which a single vehicle hit a tree on Axe Creek Road at 2.18pm on Sunday.
The extent of the woman's injuries is still unknown. An air ambulance has been called to the scene.
It is believed the woman in her 20s is mechanically trapped in the car.
Axe Creek Road is closed about one kilometres south of its intersection with Strathfieldsaye Road.
