Bendigo Theatre Company has booked out Ulumbarra for 10 shows, with an extended 20 week rehearsal period.
14 venues have prepared special green menu items, from peppermint buttercream cupcakes to matcha lattes to green IPA on tap.
Bendigo Theatre Company publicity officer Bryley Savage said businesses seemed to love that they could do something a bit fun with the Wicked theme.
Ms Savage said Wicked's iconic status was probably what led to community support for the production.
"It's about social inclusion, it's got some really strong important messages," Ms Savage said.
"It was a worldwide smash hit. So it'll be interesting to see what the BTC do with it. They're going to do something a bit different, they're not just replicating Broadway."
Wicked lovers can watch out for flashes of green at businesses around the town.
