AN UNDERAGE girl has been arrested after a car crashed through two fences in West Bendigo on Saturday morning.
Harvey Street resident Jamie Johnson was on his ride on mower on his nature strip, when the car smashed through his front fence just metres from him.
Mr Johnson's nine-year-old sons were playing in the yard just minutes earlier. He believed they could have been hit if they had still been out the front.
He said the crash had done about $1000 worth of damage to his fence and yard.
"It scared the living shit out of me, because my sons had just gone inside," Mr Johnson said.
Mr Johnson said the police grabbed the female driver and pulled her out of the car immediately after the crash. He said the car had driven around the block several times before the crash.
"They were only about thirty seconds behind her," he said.
Mr Johnson's son Cruz said he was "still shaking" after the crash.
Cruz and twin Dalton said they heard two big bangs, as the car came through the fence.
Sergeant Brad Hiatt said a female had been arrested at the scene shortly after the car crashed through two fences at about midday. Police at the scene said the female was under 18.
The car appeared to have crashed through the fences, coming to rest in a neighbouring yard.
Sergeant Hiatt said no people were in either yard at the time.
He said when the car saw police patrolling in the area it "took off", before crashing.
Police are still investigating the incident.
