Bendigo Heritage Attractions chief executive Peter Abbott said a scrubber tram worked on tracks in different parts of the city every Friday.
A scrubber tram is a maintenance vehicle that cleans the tracks.
Most of the tracks were laid in the 1920s but 80 metres was replaced earlier this year.
Mr Abbott said more tracks would be replaced next year.
