A BENDIGO man remains in a stable condition at the Royal Melbourne Hospital after an incident at a camping ground in Goornong on Saturday.
The 67-year-old was airlifted to Melbourne with serious head injuries early on Saturday morning.
Saturday:
POLICE are investigating following an incident at a Goornong camping ground early this morning.
Investigators have been told a dispute took place between two groups of campers at the English's Bridge camping area shortly before 2am.
It is believed the dispute escalated with two campers being assaulted by a group of men who also stole their car.
A 67-year-old Bendigo man was airlifted to Melbourne with serious head injuries.
A 34 -year-old Buckly man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police arrested two men, aged 23- and 24-years, just before 5am.
The pair are currently assisting police with their enquiries and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
