The Superoos finally shrugged off their bridesmaid tag by winning their first premiership in a decade.
The Superoos had lost three of the previous four grand finals, but after a scratchy start when they trailed Pyramid Hill by 31 points during the first quarter, they proved too good for the Bulldogs, winning the flag by 22 points.
And in the wake of the premiership success president Rob Clohesy was quick to put to bed any talk that this could possibly be the Superoos' swansong season, saying: "we're alive and in a healthy position and going nowhere".
2019 is certainly a year midfielder Terry Reeves will look back on fondly.
Not only was he co-captain of the premiership team with Jarryd Wiegard, but Reeves also won the league's Harding Medal. Big year indeed.

The Bulldogs' drought continues - the club's grand final loss to Mitiamo still leaves Pyramid Hill without a senior premiership since 1950.
Won the under-18 and reserves flags, but that senior monkey on the Bulldogs' back grows another year older.
Burst out of the blocks winning their first nine games and spent 16 of the 18 rounds sitting on top of the ladder.
Improved their scoring significantly from just 76 points per game last season to 104 - the only team this year to average more than 100.
Had the competition's leading goalkicker in recruit Braidy Dickens (70).
The positive for the Bulldogs is they can tick off improvement from last year given they went two weeks deeper and won four more games.
But what will be cause for frustration will be the opportunity lost given the ladder showed them to be the best side of the home and away season and when you're five goals up in a grand final and blow it, that hurts - even more so when you're trying to end a 69-year flag drought.

Finished top three, meaning they were guaranteed to at least get beyond the first week of the finals, which had been the Bears' downfall the previous two years.
Got themselves through to the preliminary final, but came up 35 points short of Pyramid Hill and had to settle for third.
Were 2-3 after five rounds before winning six on the trot, which included inflicting one of the three losses premier Mitiamo suffered for the season.
On-baller Matthew Gibbs jointly won the league's El-Vee Award, while young ruckman Nathan Twigg finished third in the Harding Medal.

A case of a massive step forward last season for the Eagles to a step back this year given they were unable to replicate their preliminary final effort of 2018.
Instead they fell a week short of that, knocked out in the first semi-final by Bears Lagoon-Serpentine.
And of course there was what became the drawn out player points breach saga that occurred in round 14 against Calivil United that wasn't officially resolved until just three days before the finals started.
Certainly provided their supporters with plenty of value for money. Including the points-affected game against Calivil United that was a 52-48 win on the day, the Eagles were involved in six games decided by less than a kick.

Ended up securing a spot in the finals on the back of Maiden Gully YCW's points breach in round 14 after the Demons were ultimately awarded the four points from that game.
Ironically, it was the Eagles that the Demons then faced off against in the elimination final - a game they led by a point at three quarter-time, but lost by 33.
Looked to be just making up the numbers early when they were 1-6, and even as late as round 14 were still second-last on the ladder.
Produced the most dominant quarter of the season when they kicked 81 points in the final term against Bridgewater in round 13, while they were also good enough to beat premier Mitiamo by four points in round 15.

Clearly a bitter pill to swallow for the Panthers in 2019 - the fact is had Maiden Gully YCW not breached its player points in round 14, the Panthers would have been playing finals instead of Calivil United.
As frustrating as that must be for the Panthers, once the dust settles the club will be able to look back on 2019 as a major step forward.
After winning three games in 2018 the Panthers lifted that to seven this year, which could easily have been nine had they not lost to Maiden Gully by a point in round three and Calivil United by three points in round 11.
Certainly proved much tougher to score against this year, cutting their average score against from 108 in 2018 back to 76. Now just need to find a bit more goalscoring power to continue an upwards trajectory next year.

A second year in a row out of the finals for the Mean Machine.
Was touted from the outset as another year of rebuild for the Mean Machine, but they were up and about early, winning four of their first six games and only ended up missing finals by percentage.
Had a heavy reliance up forward on tall target Alex Powell (54) and veteran Darren Clutton (36), who combined for almost half of the Mean Machine's 185 goals, while best and fairest Liam Jacques had a ripper of a season through the midfield and was a joint El-Vee Award winner.
Also had the winner of the league's Rising Star in James Naughton.

How the mighty have fallen sums up Newbridge - after winning the 2018 premiership the Maroons slid down to second-last in 2019 with just five wins.
The swift decline of the Maroons was most evident in round 12 when they didn't kick a goal against Mitiamo.
Remained solid defensively, ranked fourth, but their average score of 63 was a big drop-off from the 2018 premiership year's 102.
Still, it was far from a wasted year, outgoing coach Brad Comer saying after the last game: "It was a challenging year, but the positive is we've brought through quite a few kids, so the club will still take plenty out of the year."

Yet another tough year for the Blues, who endured a winless 2019 - the closest they came to a victory being their one-point loss to BL-Serpentine in round two.
And the post-season hasn't started much better either, with best and fairest winner Lachlan Sidebottom having already been announced as a White Hills' recruit.
Tough sell to find positives out of the year, but outgoing coach Ryan McNish labelled the development of players such as Matt Rowe, Taj Rodwell, Liam Drummond, Sam Barnes and Jaxon Billett as the silver lining.
