STAFF have returned to work at the Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre, which remains in partial lockdown following a a series of incidents.

Workers yesterday took part in a health and safety cease work, but work is now underway to return the centre to normal operations, a spokesperson for the Department of Justice and Community Safety said.
"Violent behavior or assaults at youth justice centres are absolutely unacceptable, and the safety of staff, young people and the community is of utmost importance," they said in a statement.
Three teenagers were remanded to adult prison after assaulting two staff members with a cricket bat at the Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre.
Two 18-year-olds and a 19-year-old, who can't be named for legal reasons, appeared before the Bendigo Magistrates Court on Friday.

They have been charged with affray by using unlawful violence, intentionally causing injury, recklessly causing injury, and assaulting an emergency worker.
"The Victorian government has invested $1.2 billion over the past four years to overhaul the youth justice system," the department spokesperson said.
"A number of initiatives improving the safety, security and operation of our youth justice system are well underway, including the newly modified design for the facility at Cherry Creek."
