Ms Curtain said she felt fortunate to lead such an important institution for the community.
"My focus will be to work collaboratively with the Board, staff, students, industry and the broader community to ensure BKI continues to evolve and makes an ongoing significant positive contribution to their lives," Ms Curtain said.
BKI's board chair Peter Harmsworth said Ms Curtain's appointment would allow the TAFE to keep evolving as a leading provider of vocational training and education.
Some of Ms Curtain's key priorities in Bendigo will be to make sure the two new Centres for Excellence continue to grow, and to oversee the completion of the Bendigo City Campus revitalisation project.
Ms Curtain begins the role on October 21.
