Heather Oliver again showed why she has earned the tag in Saturday's BFNL A-grade grand final.
The star goal attack was an undeniable choice as the winner of the best on court medal in the Dragons' seven-goal win over a fierce and gallant Kangaroo Flat.
After missing last season's premiership as a player while sidelined during her pregnancy, Oliver was keen to soak up the atmosphere of every moment at the QEO on grand final day.
"It was tough sitting out last year, but obviously for very good reason, I was just so happy to be back out there," Oliver said while nursing son Theo.
"When you miss out on things it makes you appreciate things even more.
"I was very excited to be involved in today's on the court."
Oliver, a dual Betty Thompson Medal winner in 2015 and 2017, and a best on court medal winner in Eaglehawk's 2012 A-grade premiership, said the Dragons had got what they expected from a determined Kangaroo Flat, which led at quarter time and were within two goals at the final change of end.
"We knew it would be a battle and it would come down to the absolute wire, but credit to Kangaroo Flat, they lost one of the best defenders (Kate Burton), but they really rallied around each other," she said.
"They filled Kate's gap really well and put the pressure on us right from the start.
"We just kept our heads and tried to play it play-by-play. We took our time with it and it just went our way in the end, which we are all so happy with.
"Not until that final siren did I think we had it won. Flat is not a team you go up against thinking the flag is in the bag straight off the bat."
A best on court medal was a nice extra for the selfless Dragons star, who quickly credited her team-mates in the win.
Oliver, the Dragons' joint coach for the last three years together with Tamara Gilchrist, hinted at a low-key build-up to this season's premiership decider.
"It was just another game for us, we tried not to put too much pressure on ourselves with the three-peat side of it," she said.
"Now that we have achieved it, it's a bit surreal at the moment. But I am so proud of the girls.
"We have had some ups and downs throughout the year and the last two or three years have been amazing.
"To cap it off with a third (premiership) is very special."
