The works are in relation to three mineshafts that begun sinking under newly-installed roadworks.
For the next two weeks, a signed detour will send southbound drivers along Lyons, Bobs and Powell streets with heavy vehicles to use the heavy vehicle route via Hamelin Street.
The inbound bus stop near Orville Way is temporarily closed. The community is able to use bus stops near Grace and Powell Streets.
Traffic controllers, Regional Road Victoria crews and technical experts will be on site and drivers are asked to adhere to the signed speed limits for the safety of the community and road workers.
