It was a tough selection process with a number of players unlucky to miss and a few Team of the Year regulars having disrupted seasons.
From the backline.......
BACK POCKET - Jake Thrum (Golden Square)
Thrum played everywhere in 2019 - back pocket, half-back, wing, on the ball and in the forward line. He has few peers when it comes to running ability.
FULL-BACK - Tim Walsh (Gisborne)
Pat McKenna aside, Walsh probably would be the first player picked for the Dogs each week. Rarely beaten, very reliable and a great kick.
BACK POCKET - Jake Pallpratt (Sandhurst)
A second-straight best and fairest award probably heading Pallpratt's way. In a season where the Dragons had so many injuries, he was a consistent contributor down back.
HALF-BACK FLANK - Jon Coe (Golden Square)
Arguably the most reliable defender in the BFNL. Does the job on smalls or talls.
CENTRE HALF-BACK - Bryce Curnow (Strathfieldsaye)
While the Storm star will line-up across half-forward in the grand final, he controlled the game from centre half-back for the majority of the home and away season.
HALF-BACK FLANK - Kallen Geary (Strathfieldsaye)
A staple in the Team of the Year. Spent most of the season bursting off half-back where his creativity and speed were damaging.
WING - Brad Bernacki (Gisborne)
At just 19 years of age we can look forward to seeing plenty more of Brad Bernacki. Goalkicking midfielders are worth their weight in gold.
CENTRE - Sam Heavyside (Strathfieldsaye)
Heavyside was the best player in the competition in the first half of the season. Brilliant ball-winner who was equal runner-up in the Michelsen Medal.
WING - Rhys Magin (Kyneton)
The Tigers slipped down the ladder, but Magin's output didn't drop. Still on the top shelf when it comes to BFNL midfielders.
HALF-FORWARD FLANK - Ben McPhee (Eaglehawk)
Has quickly become a Team of the Year regular. Oozes class and the most dangerou of the Borough's mosquito fleet.
CENTRE HALF-FORWARD - Pat McKenna (Gisborne)
Best all-round player in the competition. 81 goals in the home and away season and he had a hand in countless others. Genuine match-winner.
HALF-FORWARD FLANK - Sam Harper (Eaglehawk)
This decision might surprise those outside of Eaglehawk. Probably finish in the top three of the club's best and fairest after having a big impact across half-forward and in the midfield.
FORWARD POCKET - Kaiden Antonowicz (South Bendigo)
Another fine season from the Bloods' star. 69 goals in a team that struggled was a great performance.
FULL-FORWARD - Lachlan Sharp (vice-captain) (Strathfieldsaye)
129 goals in the home and away season and another Ron Best Medal - nothing else needs to be said.
FORWARD POCKET - Riley Saunders (Eaglehawk)
Always had the talent and now he's added consistency. Kicked 40 goals in the home and away season and did plenty of damage on the wing as well.
RUCK - Matt Compston (Golden Square)
Probably the toughest position on the ground to pick. Compston gets the nod for his consistency over 18 rounds.
RUCK-ROVER - Adam Baird (captain) (Golden Square)
Michelsen Medal winner despite missing the final two games of the season. Taken over the mantle from Jack Geary as the Dogs' most important player.
ROVER - Ethan Minns (Gisborne)
Career-best season for the Gisborne ball magnet. If only he could shake off his chronic knee troubles.
INTERCHANGE - Jayden Hooper (Maryborough)
Maybe a suprise packet for some, but he was named in the sixth-placed Pies' best two players eight times and will probably win the club's best and fairest. A reward for consistency.
INTERCHANGE - Josh Formosa (Strathfieldsaye)
Maybe not as brilliant as 2018, but still one of the driving forces behind the Storm's charge to the grand final.
INTERCHANGE - Brodie Collins (Eaglehawk)
Stood up strongly for the Hawks when things weren't going to plan in the opening eight weeks and was a consistent performer in the winning streak in the second half of the season.
INTERCHANGE - James Ferry (Gisborne)
Impressive season across half-back for the Bulldogs where his reading of the play and ability to beat his opponent one-on-one was a highlight.
