With the sun set to be shining, there are events that allow families to take in the rays and warmth of summer and other activties that give children and parents the chance to cool off indoors.
School holidays run from September 21 - October 6, 2019.

FREE EVENTS
SPRING FUN DAY
What do you have planned for your children these school holidays?
If they love animals, bring them to this family fun day.
Tooko Wildlife Displays will bring their interactive animal display to the heart of Bendigo for all children to enjoy.
This event, hosted by the City of Greater Bendigo, will also include the SAFE Archery team.
Where: Wednesday, September 25, 10.30am to 1.30pm.

LITTLE YOGA
Teach your child how to exercise correctly, improve their concentration and develop skills with Vitality Yoga's Kids Yoga.
Yoga assists with balance, strength and can help manage emotions.
This event will be instructed by Kehry Frank, who has 40 years experience teaching yoga to all ages and abilities.
Where: Vitality Yoga, rear of 404 Hargreaves Street, Bendigo.

LOCAL LIBRARY'S BIRTHDAY
Help Kangaroo Flat Library turn 40 with this fun and free celebration.
There will be lots of festivities to help the library celebrate, such as a photographic display, cake, balloons and a special birthday storytime.
The library will also have a fine amnesty from September 23 - 28, so present your card and have your fines waived and remember to bring in those long-overdue items.

ROLL UP - BOWLS CLUB
Come and try Roll Up, Bowls Victoria's new Under 18 social bowls program.
In this session, juniors can develop their playing skills and knowledge of the bowls game through a mix of modified games, drills and competitions.
Children can learn how to build their confidence and socialise with other supportive and like-minded individuals.
Equipment, food and refreshments are provided.

STORYTIME
Do you have a child at home that loves to read? Bring them to the library for a storytime event.
This event includes great stories, giving children the chance to use their imaginations, lots of fun and a friendly atmosphere.

HOLIDAY FUN DAY
Celebrate the school holidays with a fun day.
This event, hosted by the City of Greater Bendigo, includes SAFE Archery and a three in one inflatable playground.
Both of these activities and free and fun.

When: Thursday, October 3, 10.30am to 1.30pm.
SEUSSICAL
Hosted by the Bendigo Library, this one hour event includes original Broadway music based on the works of Dr Seuss.
Enjoy characters such as Cat in the Hat, Jojo, Horton, Gertrude and many more, along with their memorable songs.

OPEN ART
Take your child to the local art gallery and allow them to explore art making.
There will be various papers, tapes, pencils, pens and much more, to encourage creativity and imagination.
This event is aged for children four to 14 years.

When: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, September 24 - 26, from 11am.
BUBBLE EXPERIMENT
Head along to this fun event and learn how to make your own bubble mixture and bubble blower.
Perfect for those aged five to 12 years, this event will teach children to experiment with different mixtures to create various bubble shapes and sizes.

FAMILY FUN
Enjoy Church will be springing into the holidays with their family fun day.
This Sunday event features a free barbecue, jumping castle, face painting and much more.
The event follows the church service.

PREHISTORIC CREATURES
Head on a Prehistoric journey by finding the life-size Prehistoric Creatures hidden throughout Bendigo.
Collect your competition form from the Prehistoric Animals Village and place in the barrel for the chance to win a Prehistoric Creatures prize pack.

BALLOON EXPERIENCE
This event is an action packed and fun filled workshop where children can learn how to twist balloons and use their imaginations to create designs to keep.
Suited for ages seven and up, the workshop starts off with basic twists to create simpler designs.
There will be pre-inflated balloons available for everyone to get creative with where children can make their own hats, animals and much more.

CHICKEN LICKEN
Enjoy the story of Chicken Licken and the other creatures he meets, Henny Penny and Turkey Lurkey.
Chicken Licken thinks that the sky is falling in and embarks on an adventure.
This event is a great way to get your younger children interested in live theatre.

RE-IMAGINING THE CREEK
Re-imagine the Bendigo Creek in a way that children can learn about the new plants and animals that will live there.
There will be giant pop up books, a Wattle Pom Pom Tree, a possum nest and many more activities.
Children can learn to make a pom poms to add to the tree, to help it grow and can write what they would like to see along the creek.

BOOK SWAP
School holidays are the perfect time to start a new book and this event will have many for your child to choose from.
Suitable for children aged five to 18 years, this swap not only celebrates reading locally but raises funds to purchase books for Aboriginal children in remote communities.
Swap a favourite book you no longer want for another, in exchange for a gold coin donation.
Where: Bendigo Library, 251-259 Hargreaves Street, Bendigo.
When: Monday to Wednesday, September 23 - 25, 10am to 4pm.

TECHLIBRARY
The TechLibrary Open House will allow children to explore the latest technologies in an educational environment.
Children can learn about coding, programming and robotics, with different tech stations set up.
Parents can choose to stay with their children or drop them off for a day of fun. Children are able to come and go at anytime.

DINOMANIA
Dinomania is a family show that allows for the imagination to run wild.
This show will take audiences on a journey to when dinosaurs roamed the earch.
There will be songs, dancings and a "Kids Zone" for an up close and personal experience.

BIRDS OF PREY FUN DAY
This Birds of Prey Fun Day will be a highlight these school holidays.
This event features close encounters with birds of prey, flight shows and presentations from experienced handlers.
There will also be face painting, temporary tattoos, a jumping castle and a craft zone.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to get up close and personal to the furry and feathered friends with the keepers roaming the park for interactions.
There will also be parrot and feeding, the chance to meet a koala and reptiles.
