NORTH West Country Lightning will be striving for premiership glory in Sunday's Victoria State League 1 Women's grand final.
The Lightning will battle Melbourne University for the flag at the State Netball Hockey Centre in Melbourne.
The Lightning ended the home and away season second on the ladder with a 12-3-3 record before going down to Melbourne University 5-2 in their qualifying final.
However, the Lightning, who are captained by Chelsie Hird, capitalised on their fast brand of play combined with plenty of intensity to hit back with a 4-2 victory over Mornington Peninsula in last week's preliminary final to secure their grand final berth.
Standouts in the victory included Hird, vice-captain Tamara Paull, Kate Robertson, Jessie Nixon and Morgan Green.
Sunday's grand final begins at 2pm.
While the Lightning's senior women have a grand final to look forward to, their reserves team bowed out in the preliminary final when beaten by Mornington Peninsula last week.
