The Michelsen Medal for senior footballers and Betty Thompson Medal for A-grade netballers have been won by some of the greats of the BFNL.
The favourites for this year's Michelsen Medal include former winner Lachlan Sharp, his Storm team-mates Sam Heavyside and Josh Formosa, Gisborne duo Ethan Minns and Pat McKenna, Eaglehawk's Ben McPhee and Golden Square duo Adam Baird and Jack Geary, who won last year's medal. Sharp kicked 129 goals in the home and away season, including six double-figure hauls.
Michelsen Medal selections:
Adam Bourke: Ethan Minns (Gis) 1, Lachlan Sharp (SS) 2, Ben McPhee (Eh).
Luke West: Lachlan Sharp (SS), Adam Baird (GS), Ben McPhee (Eh).
Meanwhile, Sandhurst wing attack Meg Williams, her Dragons team-mate Imogen Sexton, Eaglehawk midcourt ace Ashley Ryan and reigning winner Maddy Stewart head a star-calibre cast of contenders for this season's Betty Thompson Medal.
Dual premiership players Williams and Sexton have been the standouts in another strong season for the Dragons, which has led to a third-straight grand final berth, and are sure to be prominent in Sunday night's count.
They will have strong competition for votes from their team-mates, which could pave the way for Eaglehawk centre Ryan to go one better than last season's second place finish, or for Stewart to go back-to-back.
A perennial top-three placegetter Stewart, who polled 23 votes last season, one ahead of Ryan, will face tough opposition for votes from midcourt team-mate Tiana Newman, a dual winner of the award.
Goal attack Julia Clarke and inter-league midcourter Chelsea Sartori should also poll well and represent the best chances of a first Kangaroo Flat win since Karly Elvey in 2012.
Betty Thompson Medal selections:
Kieran Iles: Meg Williams (Sh) 1, Maddy Stewart (Gis) 2, Chelsea Sartori (KF).
