That's the motto Jessie Philpot lives by and the blueprint that is continuing to deliver success in surprising places for the 24-year-old Bendigo jockey.
Philpot, who is apprenticed to Bendigo trainer Mick Sell, travelled to Kununurra, in outback Western Australia, last weekend for four rides and one win.
Her victory aboard the Dick Leech-trained six-year-old mare Sacambaya moved Philpot a step closer to achieving her goal of riding at least one winner in every Australian state and territory.
The daughter of former jockeys Gus and the late Donna Philpot only has South Australia to cross of the bucket list.
After returning to Bendigo early Monday morning, Philpot was quickly on the phone to her manager to see what opportunities might lie ahead west of the Victorian border.
"He's just as keen as I am to tick that goal off," she said.
"It would be a good outcome for both of us."
Philpot headed to Kununurra, roughly an hour flight from Darwin, but 850 kilometres by road, with confidence, after Leech trained a swag of winners the previous week, at the first of only two race meetings staged in the town each year.
She was able to mark off a win in the opening race, with Sacambaya, who was formerly trained at Warrnambool by both Matthew Williams and Ciaron Maher, making it two wins in eight days at the picturesque course.
A mixed year in the saddle for Philpot, which still has plenty to play out, saw her crowned the leading jockey for the season at King Island in January, and tick off her first metropolitan win in Darwin, and her first success in Western Australia.
The obvious lowlight was two-months on the sidelines with a fractured knee.
"It's been very busy and we've had a few bumps along the way, but if I can tick this South Australia goal off, it will be a big milestone for me," she said.
"I haven't actually been over there yet, but it wouldn't worry me if it was a little non-TAB meeting.
"It doesn't faze me where I ride a winner, I just love riding."
True to her motto, Philpot will this Saturday be in Toowoomba, where she has five rides on the seven-race card.
She will be straight back home for two rides on Sunday at Geelong, followed by one at Bairnsdale on Monday.
