The new facilities were made possible with the help of a state government grant program to encourage regional growth.
The new brewing capacity will allow the 20-year-old brewery to increase its beer production and work towards becoming the biggest independent regional brewery in Victoria.
Holgate owners Paul and Natasha Holgate started their brewery 20 years ago.
"We originally started the business to follow our passion for brewing, and to provide a local job for ourselves," Paul said.
"But along the way we've managed to create a heap of other jobs too.
"That's something we are really proud of. Holgate today has about 40 staff on our books, and through this we are major contributor to the local community, not just in Woodend but the wider Macedon Ranges and central Victorian regions."
The expansion opens on October 5 as part of the brewery's 20th birthday celebrations.
