Demons' coach Sam Kerridge said he and his former AFL team-mate at Carlton had enjoyed their first seasons with the club and had no hesitation in re-signing for another year.
"We both loved our first season with White Hills and have formed some really strong friendships,'' Kerridge said.
"We've watched the group grow over the last 12 months and we've seen the playing group thrive.
"Jed really enjoyed his time with the playing group and that's why he re-signed with the club quickly."
Lamb kicked 55 goals in 12 games for the Demons to finish third on the league goalkicking tally.
Kerridge said Lamb's commitment to the club was a key factor leading into a 2020 season where the Demons expect to improve on their fifth position of 2019.
"We'll be setting the benchmark pretty high next year,'' Kerridge said.
"With so many news faces this year it took us a while to get that continuity. Our second half was really promising and we played some super footy.
"Another summer under the belts for the boys and, hopefully a few new players into the side, should strengthen us up for next year."
Number one on the Demons' shopping list is a ruckman.
Despite giving up height and weight to opponents, Brandon Vaughan-Spruce battled manfully in the ruck this season with little support.
"Sprucey toiled away for us all year, so getting him some support is important.
"We'd like to find a number one ruckman because when you look at the top sides they all have a strong ruckman that gives their midfield first use of the footy.
"That's something we'll certainly look at."
