Dodgers were crowned Bendigo Baseball Association premiers on Sunday when they defeated Falcons 6-0 in a rain-shortened game two of the best of three finals series.

The match was cut to four inning, but Falcons deserved their win after producing a brilliant defensive effort on Sunday.

The first two innings were dominated by superb pitching and defence from both teams.

Dodgers' star pitcher Billy Parsons struck out four of the first six hitters that he faced and Falcons' counterpart Troy Waterman came up with big pitches when he needed to.

The closest either team came to scoring was when Dodgers' Nick Whatley hit a long fly ball to left field with two down.

Falcons' left fielder Harry Fitzgerald raced back and took a superb catch to finish the inning.

In the top of the third, Parsons struck out three hitters in a row, and had now struck out the past six hitters he had faced.

Mark Eeles led off for Dodgers in the bottom of the third and reached base when he was hit by a pitch. Jack Harrison then hit safely.

The next batter hit a ground ball at Falcons' Brad Muns and he made a brilliant unassisted double to retire two hitters.

Eeles went to third base on the play and the dangerous Anthony Amsing stepped up to the plate.

Amsing hit a screaming line drive towards short-stop Bailey Waterman, who was only able to touch, but not catch the ball as it curved into centre field. Eeles scampered home with the first run of the game.

After two rain delays in the game, Falcons came to the plate in the top of the fourth with time running out.

Parsons struck out the first hitter. Brad Muns came to the plate and hit a hard ground ball to short-stop.

Jack Harrison fielded the ball and threw to first base where Mark Eeles made an outstanding play.

Troy Waterman hit a sharp ground ball to first base and Eeles easily gathered it and stood on first to end the inning.

Dodgers came to bat in the bottom of the inning needing some extra runs to secure the game and make sure that Falcons did not bat again.

Duncan Lever reached base when he was hit by a pitch and then Nick Whately singled.

Further hits in the inning by Anthony Amsing and Rod Baulch saw Dodgers drive five runs across the plate and run down the clock.

The umpire consulted the scorers and then his watch, and called time and game.

The star of the game was Parsons. He was expected to dominate Falcons batting line up and he did, striking out eight batters in four innings, walking only one, and not giving up a single hit or run.

He received offensive support from Anthony Amsing and Rod Baulch, who drove in most of the Dodger runs, and Mark Eeles played a flawless game at first base.

Meanwhile, Bendigo East won the division two premiership after it defeated Dodgers 11-7 in game two on Sunday.
