ALL lanes of traffic are open on the Upper California Gully Road after the Country Fire Authority contained a 200-metre oil spill.
CFA and police are still slowing traffic in the area.
Senior station officer Rick O'Callagan said the CFA was still trying to determine the substance.
The oil is covering an 80-metre stretch of Baldock Crescent and about 150 metres of the Upper California Gully Road.
The CFA was called to the scene about noon after a driver lost control of their vehicle as they turned onto the Upper California Gully Road from Baldock Crescent.
No one was injured and there was no damage to the car in the incident.
CFA will remain on scene until council arrives with sand for the clean up.

CFA have contained the spill but are waiting for council to arrive with sand.
Police are also on scene.
