FATHER'S DAY
RUN FOR DAD
Run for your dad this Father's Day and fundraise for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and Bendigo Community Health Service's men's health clinic.

The Father's Day Fun Run is designed to not only raise funds for these foundations but to raise your heart rate while having fun with your family.
Dress up as your favourite superhero and help fight cancer.
Register here and enjoy a day of costume, family and fitness.
The run will be followed by a free breakfast and entertainment provided by Eaglehawk Brass Band.

SHOW AND SHINE
If your dad likes all things vintage and vehicles then the Centre State Rodders annual Father's Day Show and Shine is for him.

The event includes all the favourite vehicles ranging from hot rods and street machines to vintage cars.
Centre State Rodders are a not-for-profit group who have been donating to various charities throughout their years.
Entry is a gold coin donation, show cars free entry. For more information, click here.

COUNTRY CLASSIC
See athletes and bodybuilding enthusiasts at the annual Pro League Australia Bendigo Country Classic
The show provides a platform for bodybuilders of all levels to display their hard work.
The event is suitable for beginners through to the elite, to participate in friendly competition or to just appreciate the human form.

GALA DANCE
The Bendigo Ballroom Dance Club invites all to an evening of dance and fun.

WOW FOR WOMEN
The Inglewood and Districts Health Service warmly welcomes you to the Women's Health Week WOW Night.
This event is a fun, formal evening and a chance for you to put on your best dress and enjoy a women's function.
The event includes finger food, drinks, a fashion parade and presentation from guest speaker Nelly Thomas.
Nelly Thomas, an award-winning performer described as one of Australia's most natural comedians, writes a column called Nelly Navigates, where she kick-starts colourful, educational conversations about women's health issues.
Tickets are $40. Students in year 9 and above, accompanied by an adult, are welcome to attend the event. $10 a student.

PLAY SESSION

AUTHOR'S VISIT
Award-winning Australian author Mark Brandi is visiting Echuca to speak about his latest book, The Rip.

Mark worked extensively in the justice system, before changing direction and deciding to write.
Originally from Italy, he grew up in rural Victoria and now lives in Melbourne.

BENDIGO ON THE HOP - SOLD OUT
This sold-out event is Australia's best and most unique beer festival, pairing the city's finest beer venues with independent breweries.

The event includes the chance to meet and talk to brewers, experience unique beers and be entertained by live music.
Whilst tickets for Bendigo on the Hop are currently sold out, you may be lucky to get one.

BENDIGO INVENTION + INNOVATION FESTIVAL
The second annual Bendigo Invention + Innovation Festival is set to feature a variety of talks, workshops and panel sessions.

The week-long festival originally grew from the Bendigo Inventor Awards, which will kick off the event on Monday.
The festival includes events that promote innovative approaches to business and Bendigo's reputation as an innovative city.

FILM FESTIVAL TRAVELLING SHOWCASE
Each year, the Melbourne International Film Festival presents the Travelling Showcase, which hits the road with a series of weekend programs across regional Victoria.

FLOWER SHOW
In its 125 year old history, the Kyneton Horticultural Society is once again hosting its annual spring flower show.

The show highlights a range of daffodils, hellebores, cut flowers, shrubs, pot plants, cacti, succulents, floral art, vegetables and a large children's section.
There will be plants for sale, grown by society members as well as potted bulbs, books, jellies and pickles, pots and gardenalia.
President Nicholas Scott encourages everyone of all ages to participate to show what you can grow.

The show also includes an afternoon tea, raffle and a free horticultural talk on Saturday.

WOMNJEKA
The Arnold Street Gallery is proud to present an exhibition showcasing works by Bendigo and Regional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.

Curated by Aboriginal artist, Janet Bromley, Womnjeka means welcome in Kulin Nation language.
Artists featured in the exhibition are Ian Clark, Suze Radford, Paul Chapman, Georgina Risely, Peta Hudson and many more.
The exhibition includes several various events such as a circle weaving workshop, curator talk and artist talks.

BALENCIAGA: SHAPING FASHION
World-class couture has come back to town, with the Bendigo Art Gallery opening their newest exhibition, Balenciaga: Shaping Fashion this weekend.
This exhibition showcases the growth and works of designer Cristobel Balenciaga and his legacy of the modern designers he influenced.

The exhibition will feature contemporary designs by the house of Balenciaga, with video footage that shows historic garments morphing into modern interpretations.

DESERT LINES
Desert Lines: Batik from Central Australia brings together about 60 selected works from the collection of the National Gallery of Victoria.

The works show the unique and distinct batik styles (a method of wax resist fabric printing) of five central desert communities: Ernabella (Pukatja), Fregon (Kaltjiti), Utopia, Yuendumu and Kintore (Walungurru).
This exhibition will showcase the batik work for women of the desert and it's importance. It will also show interconnected through ceremony, travel and much more.

MANY SUCH AS SHE
Museum curator, Kirsten McKay, is excited to be hosting this exhibition, Many Such As She, which profiles more than 15 biographies of women poets, alongside items from the military collection.

Central Victorian poet and critic Michael Sharkey began researching the poets' responses to the Great War many years ago, with an interest to find out why so little had been collected and why it was so long neglected.
Michael edited the collection of women's poetry for his recent publication, Many Such As She, after discovering some fascinating stories
For the exhibition, Kirsten has negotiated the loan of a suite of original poetry publications from the State Library of Victoria - Rare Books Department.
