IF ever there was an excuse to pamper your favourite pooch, tomorrow is it.
August 26 is National Dog Day, and celebrations started early in Bendigo.
Three business worked together to mark the occasion with activities ranging from doggy dress ups to a mini obedience class on Saturday.
The festivities attracted dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes.
Wally's Dog Cafe owner Katie McKee said breed meet ups for Oodles, Golden Retrievers and Labradors were among the day's most popular events.

National Dog Day is a celebration of dogs and an acknowledgement of all they do to help humans.
The initiative started in 2004.
"Dogs are amazing companions for humans and bring so much happiness and enjoyment for people," Ms McKee said.
Other organisations involved in Saturday's event included Adam & Eve and Tristen's Puppy Gym.
