POLICE say a mechanical issue caused a car fire in Eaglehawk on Friday morning.

The Country Fire Authority and police were called to blaze on York Street, Eaglehawk at about 9.45am.
The fire was put under control just before 10am.
No one was in the car at the time.
Constable Kyle Hedrick said the fire was caused by a mechanical issue in the later model BMW.
Police are not treating the blaze as suspicious.
