Choir members from Girton Grammar School worked with up-and-coming singer Conrad Sewell on Wedensday.
Sewell along with the students performed a small set for the school's assembly as the Brisbane-based singer wrapped up his regional tour for his debut album Life.
Year 11 student Lucie Griffin said it was an exciting opportunity for the students.
"We got to sing with him and to be part of a video he is making which might be made into a music video," she said.
"Learning tricks of the trade is really helpful for those of us who might pursue a music career.
"There's a lot of energy on the stage and you get that energy from the crowd when they're screaming, which is really exciting."
For Sewell, the highly energised reception from the students was a surprise.
"There was a lot of energy in the room," he said. "I've only done one of these at my old high school the week the album came out and it was all the boys going nuts. I thought that was because it was my old high school but this one was special.
"I remember when I was at school something like this would happen and it was such a cool thing, so it's amazing to be able to give back and hopefully inspire the students them a little bit
"The Girton (music) students were great, they played the song perfectly. It was really nice."
