READ MORE - Colbinabbin entering finals in good shape
WHITE Hills' defender Anna-Grace Close has won the club's first Heathcote District league A Grade netball medal for more than a decade.
The gun Demons' defender, who coached this year's inter-league team, edged out Colbinabbin's Jessica Geary by one vote in a thrilling count.
Close's three votes against Leitchville-Gunbower last Saturday took her to 22, while Geary finished runner-up on 21.
There was a three-way tie for third place with Huntly's Kym Bell, who was last year's runner-up, White Hills' Ashley Gilmore and Elmore's Abbey Hay all on 19.
While White Hills has long been a dominant netball force, the Demons hadn't had an A Grade league medallist since Michelle Atherton in 2007.
