Visiting as part of their annual roadshow, the mint was offering locals the chance to strike their own collector's edition one dollar coin with a map of Australia.
The Bold, The Bad and The Ugly collection features uncirculated coins that recognise the lasting impact the bushranging era had on Australia.
Mint retail and events team leader Todd Matthews said people had lined up from 7.30am to ensure they were able to secure their special edition coins.
"The one dollar bushrangers coins have been really popular," he said. "People are keen to stamp them and get the set of six to put into their collection.
"The first person (we served) lined up at 7.30 and we had a line until about 10am before it eased off after that.
"This is the fifth location of this tour. We were in Shepparton a few days ago and people travelled up (from around here) to make sure they got their coins. So it has been a great turn out."
As part of the tour, the mint also conducts a coin swap where people can swap their old coins for 2019 editions.
A world-wide hobby that has spanned centuries, the mint's regional tour gives coin collectors a chance to view and purchasing uncirculated and special edition coins.
"It's been a hobby for a long time,," Mr Matthews said. "I'm not sure what draws people in, whether it's collecting a specific theme like the moon landing and from there the collection grows or whether a family member used to collect coins and it has been continued (by someone else).
"It's a great way to look at history and a great way to learn about the different things that happened in Australia that people wouldn't normally see or remember without the (special edition) coin."
