PIP Johanson is disappointed a tribute to her grandmother and great-grandmother has been vandalised.
"It's a shame, isn't it, when things are done in good faith and these things happen?" Pip Johanson said.
Ms Johanson's grandfather Francis James Every dedicated gates and plaques to Rosalind Park's fernery in 1953.
The dedication happened at around the time of her grandmother's death and the fernery was an important part of his childhood, Ms Johanson said.
Mr Every grew up in White Hills and visited the park as a child.
"You could hardly believe it now but in those days it was considered a big day out to head into the fernery for a picnic. Children often spent their time in the streets around their houses," Ms Johanson said.
"So for Grandpa the fernery was a place of a lot of treasured memories."
