The kindness of strangers will not be forgotten.
A special thanks to the lovely young boy who offered his hand to help me up, a gentleman in the making.
Thank you.

THE LAST WALTZ
I remember good old days with crowds of 100 or more,
The atmosphere was great, hardly any room on the floor;
But nothing lasts forever, isn't that what they say,
Reflect back, but we must address where we are today.
All dance numbers are down as the aging process peaks,
No younger ones coming on, the future is rather bleak.
Where will we be in one years time is what I want to know,
Will there still be Dances or will we all be a no show!
I encourage everyone to dance as often as you can,
Dancing is a fantastic exercise and also helps our brain,
Laughter, friendships plus good times and fun,
Enjoy it now, you will miss it when the music is done!

A poorer country
It is difficult not to agree that the world we once knew, has gone completely bonkers, and frankly the election of Donald and Boris has done nothing to erase such opinions.
Back home here in OZ, the right of the public to know, is now being classed as classified information, with journalists in danger of being jailed for simply doing their job. This is just another reason not to trust this Government, as PM Morrison has been largely mute on the subject.
This is probably the most serious imposition on our democracy ever, but this behavior has been escalating for some time, and we should not be all that surprised, but unless the attempt to tell us nothing at all is overturned, our democratic right to know will be impeded for ever. I cannot remember this being a problem previously, and appears to be a deliberate attempt by Dutton to control the country.
Australia has changed so much, the working relationship of employees and employers has been decimated, the powerful have been restricting job security, chipping away at working conditions, wages are flat lining, while everyday costs go through the roof. The economy is flimsy a best, based on materialistic consumerism, we are choking our waterways with discarded plastic crap, and generally ignoring the environment around us.
Australia's population in 1941 was approximately 7million. Now we are nudging 25 million, but instead of being more vigilant with our discarded waste products it getting increasingly worse per capita.
Our poor country.

Thanks for care
After spending 10 days in hospital and having 2 weeks with hospital in home care I have a strong desire to express to all Bendigonians to think themselves so very lucky and so very privileged to have our magnificent hospital managed by a second-to-none organisation being Bendigo Health.
The doctors, nurses and behind the scenes staff are all so dedicated to each and every one of their patients to get them back on their feet as good as new.
A special thank you to the wonderful nurses involved in the hospital in the home care. Their dedication is quite unbelievable. That being said. here is a special message to all those whingers that do nothing but complain . Remember, you are not the only one that needs attention. So when you feel like complaining get your brain into gear and keep your mouth shut.
Forever grateful.

Need for intervention
It would appear with our road toll 60 more than this time last year that there is a real need for some sort of intervention to try and curb it.
Maybe the Government could implement driving lesson for young student in the learner age bracket in all schools. Another idea would be for learner drivers to attend a driving school for say the first 5 lessons so they do not pick up the bad driving habits of the family member teaching them.
This may change the bad driving habits of some and until they do change the road toll will continue to climb out of control. Some people just seem to have a death wish when driving as road rules seem not apply to them. Even when people park they seem to be oblivious to certain signs mean, which just shows their blatant disrespect of ALL road rules.

Well done, Bendigo
Bendigo You've Done It Again! What a weekend feast we have just had with The Bendigo Writer's Festival.
Thousands of people had a truly inspiring weekend even though the weekend weather was freezing.
Ulumbarra was packed. The Capital Theatre was packed. The Bendigo Bowling Club was packed. Latrobe Art Institute was packed. How extraordinarily fortunate we are to have such a quality event to attend in our city. It is wonderful to hear the views and thoughts of others.... others who are skilled, knowledgeable and articulate.
Events such as this don't just happen. They take enormous input & effort from a great team of people. So I would like to say a very big thankyou to the Director of The Bendigo Writer's Festival, Rosemary Sorensen. What a great job you do year after year. Thankyou to the volunteers in their yellow T-shirts! Where would we be without dedicated volunteers? The authors, the staff, the interviewers, the media partners, other partners and the sponsors of this event, the City of Greater Bendigo & Latrobe University....thankyou.
You all need to give yourselves a big pat on the back because you have given our city a dynamic, action packed weekend.
