FOR the second year in a row Maiden Gully YCW has topped the Loddon Valley league ladder for most total wins across all grades of football and netball.

And in what is a fine achievement by the Eagles, they have all 10 of their teams competing in the finals, which start this weekend.

Combined, the Eagles' three football and seven netball teams won 129 of their 160 games, finishing 36 victories clear of their nearest rivals, Pyramid Hill (93).

Three of the Eagles teams - under-18 football and the C grade and C reserve netball - finished on top of the ladder.

It's the fifth time this decade the Eagles have topped the season-ending ladder for most overall wins.

Maiden Gully YCW's 129 victories is a 20-win improvement on last year's 109, which is aided by the addition of the 13-under netball division this season.

The club with the biggest overall improvement has been Calivil United, which improved 33 wins from last season's 68 to this year's 91.

The Demons improved by nine football and 24 netball wins. Another significant improver in 2019 has been Marong (+29)

The season's biggest slider has been Inglewood, which - even with the addition of the extra netball grade - dipped by 13 from 62 total wins last year to 49.
