The Reds, led by four goals from Naomi Dawson, defeated the Swans 12-0 at Stanley Avenue on Sunday.
Their fifth win of the season allowed the Reds to climb above Moama-Echuca into eighth spot on the ladder, after the Border Raiders were well beaten by second-placed Eaglehawk.
Coach Amanda Sgarioto hoped the victory, which followed a loss to top side Shepparton United, would give her players the impetus needed to finish the season on a high note.
The Reds will get every chance, with clashes against Moama-Echuca (ninth), Epsom (10th), Golden City (seventh) and Tatura (11th).
Wins in all four games could elevate Spring Gully as high as sixth by the season's end.
Perhaps the only downside for the Reds is they will not get the opportunity to follow-up their impressive win over Swan Hill, with a bye scheduled this weekend.
"It's frustrating, but it's okay .... we're hopeful of forcing a few more wins," said Sgarioto, who contributed a hat-trick of goals against the Swans.
"But I'm sure a few of the other teams we play will be thinking, 'if we can get this win and that win', that will set them up for something nice as well.
"I'm certain we are better side than last year."
The Reds got a wide mix of contributions on Sunday, with six players hitting the scoresheet.
Natalie Bernard finished the match with two, while Macey Seboa, Cherokee Anderson, and Paige Conder each contributed one.
Following her four-goal haul, Dawson leads all Spring Gully payers this season with 12.
In a show of depth, the Reds were able to use 15 players against the Swans.
In contrast, Spring Gully has not fielded a team in the men's division one competition this season, with work behind the scenes ongoing in a bid to revive the top-tier team.
"Hopefully we can get back on track with that next year," Sgarioto said.
"The start of that obviously comes with getting a coach, but I have a good feeling we'll get a men's team with the youth (players) coming up and the division two team and hopefully a few players who went looking to play senior soccer coming back."
In this weekend's women's fixtures, Strathdale returns to action after a bye against Shepparton, La Trobe University hosts Golden City, Eaglehawk plays Epsom, Shepparton United clashes with Moama-Echuca, and Colts United battles Tatura.
