But the one thing that is still clear as day in the minds of the players is the 1959 premiership winning goal kicked by YCW's Frank McGrath in the final quarter of the grand final against Chewton.
"Luckily there wasn't much time left," laughed McGrath.
Coached by Bill Smith, the premiership winning team's path to grand final victory didn't come without a challenge.
The team finished third on the ladder and were required to play in the first semi-final where they defeated Kennington by 15 points, 4.10 (34) over 2.7 (19).
To lock in their spot in the premiership match against Chewton, the team had to take on Kangaroo Flat in the preliminary final.
YCW secured an 18-point win over Kangaroo Flat, final scores 7.17 (59) over 5.11 (41).
And then the stage was set, the grand final was to be played at the QEO on Saturday October 10, 1959.
In the first quarter Chewton took an early lead, 3.5 over 2.5 and kept it up at half time with the scores at 5.5 over 4.6.
YCW had a tough task on their hands going into the final quarter down by 13 points, Chewton led 7.9 over 5.8.
However, the YCW team was up to the challenge of a do-or-die final quarter to secure the 1959 Bendigo Football Association premiership flag.
YCW came out firing, kicking six goals in the fourth to Chewton's three, to see the final scores 11.11 (77) over 10.10 (70) on the siren.
McGrath only kicked one goal in the game, but it's the goal that has gone down in history.
A long distance goal by Smith from centre half-forward also helped narrow Chewton's lead.
"We kicked six goals in that last quarter, I will always remember watching John Mulqueen throw the ball to Frank at centre half-forward and he kicked the winning goal," YCW player Bryan McMahon said.
