THE Bendigo Thunder fell a kick short of winning their second game of the Northern Football League Women's season on Sunday.
The Thunder led West Preston-Lakeside by two points at three quarter-time at Weeroona Oval.
However, the visitors had the better of the final term, kicking 2.3 to 1.1 to prevail 6.4 (40) to 5.4 (34) and avenge their defeat to the Thunder a fortnight ago.
"The girls battled hard all day. It was a really good contest for four quarters, but they were able to get a couple of goals late and hang on," Thunder coach Luis Alvarez-Harris said.
"I'm really proud of the endeavor of the girls in what was probably our most consistent team game for the season."
Emily Taylor became the Thunder's first multiple goalkicker in a game for the season, slotting two.
The other two were kicked by Madeline Holt and Bianca Jones.
Bendigo's best players featured Katelyn Hazlett, Georgia Gordon, Brianna Burt, Jones, Taylor and Ebony Whiley.
