The Hawks', who are in their debut season in the CVFLW, secured a 16-point win over Kyneton at the weekend.
What has impressed coach Allan Godfrey throughout the season is how the team "sticks together through thick and thin".
"They've been resilient all year and have stuck together win or lose," Godfrey said.
"Then when we get a win, it's a little bit of an extra zing as a reward for the hard work."
Godfrey believed the support from the entire Eaglehawk FNC was paramount to the development of the women's squad.
"Hats off to the club for backing us. The girls feel they are part of the whole club and not just the women's side," he said.
"We had a whole team-feel to start with, a great bunch of players and support staff.
"We felt that if we get the core right then the rest would come along."
The team had a mixed start with some crushing blows earlier in the season, but found glory in round 10 with its first 7.5 (47) to 0.1 (1) win over Strathfieldsaye.
The team then backed it up with its second win last weekend in round 12 with a 2.6 (18) to 0.2 (2) win over Kyneton.
Hawks' captain Emma Windridge was named as best on ground for her never-ending "top form" on the field.
"When she's out on the ground it makes a huge difference to the team with her great use of the ball," Godfrey said.
"We've been surprised with how competitive we now are in games and the second win proves we were just a little bit stiff the week before against North Bendigo," Godfrey said.
In round 11 the Hawks were narrowly defeated by the Bulldogs by two points, 3.5 (23) over 3.3 (21).
"With Golden Square and Kangaroo Flat as the benchmark teams we're now proving that we can certainly give it to the other sides," he said.
"But this week we will aim to give the Roos a shock and put up a challenge."
